Group settling in with their meals.

New location, new catering, messy weather but a great time!

EAA Chapter 1361’s annual Volunteer Appreciation dinner was held last Saturday evening, March 30th. Cost restraints found us looking for a new venue to conduct the dinner and our great planning committee found the Del Webb Aspen Lodge in Somersett. It is a beautiful facility made available to residents of the community at a reasonable price. Catering was arranged through Men Wielding Fire in Reno.

Our guest speaker for the evening was Mike Leonard who gave us a look into the life of a Forward Air Controller in Vietnam flying the Cessna O-1 “Birddog”. After his presentation MC (and treasurer) Joe Magdaleno and chapter president Tracy Rhodes presented Mike with a nice memento of his evening with the chapter.

The weather wasn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination but everyone made it safely to and from the venue through a light snow/rain mix.

Below you will find several photos taken during the evening.
