The Chapter 1361 Volunteer Recognition Dinner was held at Pinocchio’s Bar & Grill on the evening of January 12th. 54 people ate a great meal, engaged in lively conversation and listened to a very interesting aviation speaker. Some were even lucky enough to win one of the great raffle prizes donated to the Chapter by Dennis Koehl and Jack Herris.

The Chapter’s Volunteer Recognition Dinner is held to say thank-you to all of the individuals who volunteer their time to keep our Chapter and Chapter event running smoothly. None of the work that the Chapter does could be accomplished without out outstanding group of volunteers.

First our Chapter Officers, Directors and Committee Chairpersons were recognized. Then our Young Eagles Coordinator recognized all of the pilots and ground volunteers who make our Young Eagle events possible.

The guest speaker for the evening was Kurt Haukohl, State Aviation Manager for the Nevada Department of Transportation.

Kurt gave us a great presentation on the development of the public use airports throughout the State of Nevada. We even got a good look into the process of setting up the Black Rock City Airport at the Burning Man Festival each year.

It was a fun evening and an excellent chance to get to know our fellow members of Chapter 1361 in an informal setting. If you weren’t there you missed a really great time!
