Our next Chapter 1361 General Meeting will be on Thursday Evening December 5th at 6 PM in the Community Room upstairs in the Reno-Stead Terminal Building at 4895 Texas Ave., Reno, NV 89506.
After introductions and our usual review of the upcoming aviation events in the Reno area we will discuss a few short business items. We will be going over the details of our Volunteer Recognition Dinner and getting short updates on some events the Chapter helped with in November and plans for some in December.
EAA National does not publish a Chapter Video Magazine in December, In its place we will have a guest speaker – Frank Murray. Frank flew the A-12 for the CIA – you won’t want to miss his presentation..
The Lockheed A-12 was a reconnaissance aircraft built for the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) by Lockheed‘s Skunk Works, based on the designs of Clarence “Kelly” Johnson. The aircraft was designated A-12, the 12th in a series of internal design efforts for “Archangel”, the aircraft’s internal code name. In 1959 it was selected over Convair‘s FISH and Kingfish designs as the winner of Project GUSTO, and was developed and operated under Project Oxcart.
