Please join us as we gather in the Reno-Stead Airport Terminal at 9 am on February 3rd to learn the latest news about our Chapter and aviation in Northern Nevada.

Jessica "Sting" Peterson, our February guest speaker standing in front of a Northrup T-38 "Talon" aircraft.

Our guest speaker for February will be Jessica “Sting” Peterson. Former Technical Director of the 412th Operations Group at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., and Flight Test Engineer Instructor at the USAF Test Pilot School, Jessica will present on Flight Test Engineering and share her experience with real world flight test scenarios including the development of the Automatic Collision Avoidance Technology, a fielded system that has saved 13 pilot lives to date in the F-16. The technology prevents loss of aircraft and life due to collision with the ground or other aircraft by automatically taking control and executing a maneuver to avoid impact. The ability to test a system designed to prevent collisions while not actually putting the test pilot at serious risk required extensive safety planning. Ms. Peterson will present the test planning, execution and results from the flight test program.

If there is time after our speaker’s presentation, will be watching the latest issue of EAA’s Chapter Video Magazine, see a short video segment from EAA’s Timeless Voices and watch a Homebuilder Hint about flight testing.

Join us for a great time talking aviation and flying with your fellow chapter members!

As usual, coffee and donuts will be available.
