The Sporty’s iPad Pilot News website published a review of Apple’s new 9.7″ iPad Pro recently.
They used the new iPad with the ForeFlight aviation app on a trip to the Sun-n-Fun Fly-in this year and also on several flights in various aircraft while they were at the fly-in.
In their estimation the new iPad is worth giving a try. The screen is said to be 40% less reflective, a characteristic that they verified in various lighting conditions. The display is also noticeable brighter and the increase in processor speed helps with app loading and switching. They also liked the ability to split-screen two apps at the same time and to write notes on the screen using the Apple Pencil accessory ($100).
They recommend the 128GB model with wi-fi only and an external GPS (their tests used the Stratus 2S).
