The International Convention of the Soaring Society of America scheduled to be held in February 2022 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center has been postponed.
The SSA Board of Directors is appointed to oversee all aspects of soaring and the SSA. Sometimes hard decisions have to be made for the safety and welfare of our members, and this is one such time. After many weeks gathering data and careful consideration, the Board feels with the COVID pandemic, and numbers expected to rise in mid-February, it is not wise to have a large gathering at this time.
We are working to postpone the convention to a date this fall (2022) or early next year (2023) when we feel it will be safer to gather. As soon as a new date has been selected, we will publish the information.
The convention will still be held in Reno and Chapter 1361 will still have the same floor and booth space that we have been assigned.
If you have volunteered to work in the Chapter booth but will no longer be available on the new convention dates when they are announced, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org so that we may adjust the schedule.
