Did You Know?

Friday, August 19th is National Aviation Day in the U.S.  The special recognition day was established in 1939 by then President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. August 19th is Orville Wright’s birthday (born in 1871).

Since it is a special aviation day (as is December 17th), don’t you think it would be a good idea to celebrate it by committing aviation in some way?

Here are NASA’s ten favorite things to do to celebrate National Aviation Day from last year’s event.

Pilots don’t usually need a reason to fly but this one seems to be a great one to justify taking the time off from whatever you would normally be doing on Friday.

Go for it!
