Chapter 1361 participated with in the inaugural Reno Ward 4 Takeoff event on the south side of the Reno-Stead Airport Terminal on September 7th.

The event was organized as a way to say thank-you to the Reno Ward 4 residents who each year have to put up with the increased traffic and noise associated with the National Championship Air Races held at the Stead Airport.

A small parade marched around the area, old cars were on display, the Reno Air Racing Association arranged a fly-by of each of the five classes of racers participating this year. Both our EAA Chapter and the North Valley’s Libraries had displays set up inside the Stead Terminal.

City mayors of Reno and Sparks, officers and managers of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority and other dignitaries were present and welcomed everyone to the event.

It was estimated that 200-300 people attended this inaugural event and all seemed to be having a good time.

18-20 restored and customized cars on display in the Stead Terminal parking area.
