The NWS and NOAA have been promoting their phase-out of the old text-based Aviation Area Forecasts for some time now. The official 3-month transition period begins July 10th when both the old and new systems will be available to aviators. Then on October 10th the old version will be removed and we will be left with the more modern depiction of the area forecast information. The new Graphical Forecast for Aviation are available on the aviation weather website at: http://www.aviationweather.gov/gfa.
