Our September Chapter Gathering is tomorrow night. If you don’t feel comfortable going through the airport main gate because of all of the air race preparations going on, just park on the south side of the terminal building. We will have the doors on that side open now that the the street paving project has been completed.
Our normal sequence of meeting segments will be rearranged a little. Larry Cheek our local FAA Safety Team Program Manager will be giving a presentation on a near-miss that occurred in the Minden traffic pattern recently and will cover best practices for non-towered airport operations.
After that we will get into a full slate of Chapter activities and finish up with tis month’s Chapter Video Magazine from the folks in the Chapter Office in Oshkosh.
As an aside, one of those folks in the EAA Chapter Office, Serena Kamps, will be joining us on the tram volunteer team for the last weekend of the races – as long as the weather holds. She will be finishing up a segment of the national tour of EAA”s One Week Wonder aircraft, moving it from Portland to Phoenix where the next group of tour pilots will pick it up. If the schedule works out she will finish up on Friday and fly up to Reno for the final weekend of the races.
Don’t forget the Tam volunteer orientation session on Saturday followed by the City of Reno Takeoff Event at the Stead Airport Terminal from 1-5 pm.
See you there!
